Kent Gilson
Founder and CTO
|
Star Bridge founder and Chief Technology Officer Kent Gilson is a life-long entrepreneur and a global pioneer of reconfigurable computing technologies and products. During his career, Mr. Gilson has founded seven technology companies. He has been
exploring and expanding the limits of reprogrammable systems and solutions since 1983, when he built his first
experimental field programmable gate array (FPGA) chip.
The innovative reconfigurable tools Mr. Gilson created prior to founding Star Bridge Systems include: a three-axis milling
machine/plotter, used to build computer motherboards and controlled by a reconfigurable computer; a raster image processor
(RIP), built in 1989, the world's first reconfigurable computer product and still one of the world's fastest RIPs; a
12-processor general-purpose high-speed computer platform called ACE-12; and a fully digitized 128-track recording studio,
Digital Wings, which won Best of Show from EQ Magazine at the 1996 National Association of Music Merchants Winter Convention.
